CONNECTORS FOR COMPLEX LEGAL TOPICS

LexisNexis Academic offers many "connectors" for building complex and specific legal searches.  If you follow the steps for Finding Legal Cases by Subject and get too many irrelevant results, consider using these techniques.

CONNECTOR DEFINITION & EXAMPLE
OR Find at least one of two words/phrases (synonyms)
Example:  (dog OR canine)
AND Find both of two words/phrases
Example:  (dog OR canine) AND "search and seizure"    
W/p 

Find two words or phrases in the same paragraph
Example:  (dog OR canine) W/p "search and seizure"
