Winter Online Term Library Information

Library hours will be shortened during the Winter Online Term.
  • Find online journal articles and eBooks through LibSearch from the library homepage 
  • During the winter holiday closure, UHD librarians will answer questions through our Ask-a-Librarian e-mail service.
  • Professional librarians will staff our Chat service 24/7 throughout the break.
  • Our AskALibrarian FAQs include answers to previously asked research questions and questions about the library.

Check to see if your class has materials on Course Reserves.

Look for Library Research Guides on your topic.

Distance & Online Services for Students

The UHD library offers most services in traditional and alternative ways to meet the needs of students and faculty at distance sites or taking classes online.

  • Have books sent to your distance site:
    • UHD-Northwest students can request materials through the library catalog by selecting the "UH Northwest Lonestar Coll Lib" location. 
    • Students at other locations, please email the Distance Eduction Librarian for assistance with this service.
    • For more information on requesting items through the library catalog visit the Checking Out Materials page.
    • Return any UH-system library material to any UH-system library location.

  • TexShare Card Program
    • TexShare Card Program allows UHD students, faculty, and staff to borrow books and other materials from other participating Texas libraries.
    • Current students, faculty and staff in good standing can get a TexShare card free of charge. If you are unable to come to the library to pick up your card, we will mail it to you.
