Houston Arts Alliance (HAA) is the local nonprofit arts agency that enhances the city’s quality of life through advancing and investing in the arts and diverse cultural programming. The work of HAA encourages Houston’s development and shapes its global reputation by fostering tourism and supporting and promoting the city’s creative economy.

The mission of the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) is to advance our state economically and culturally by investing in a creative Texas. TCA supports a diverse and innovative arts community in Texas, throughout the nation and internationally by providing resources to enhance economic development, arts education, cultural tourism and artist sustainability initiatives.

The mission of Art League Houston is to connect the community through diverse, dynamic, and creative experiences that bring people together to see, make, and talk about contemporary visual art.

Artpace was founded by artist, collector, and businesswoman Linda Pace (1945-2007) in 1993 and opened to the public in 1995. Pace conceived of Artpace as a laboratory of dreams, providing artists from all over the world with an environment that would encourage experimentation and growth.

In the years since, Artpace has garnered recognition for supporting creativity through its residency and exhibition programs, as well as its range of educational programs. Growing from the inspired vision of one woman, Artpace is now an internationally-respected public institution and a cornerstone of contemporary art in San Antonio and the region.

Bea Ying Projects' mission is to provide a platform for early career visual artists of generation Y. Vehicles of platform include: production and promotion of group and solo pop-up exhibitions, providing affordable studio space and brokering artwork.

To provide the educational and cultural link among African American artists and all communities, inspiring unlimited creativity.

DiverseWorks commissions, produces, and presents new and daring art in all its forms through innovative collaborations that honor each artist’s vision without constraint.

Galveston Artist Residency exists to promote and encourage the knowledge and appreciation of visual art by giving artists a gift of time and space for the development of their work. We provide studio space, accommodation and a stipend to three artists annually.

The mission of the Houston Museum of African American Culture (HMAAC) is to collect, conserve, explore, interpret, and exhibit the material and intellectual culture of Africans and African Americans in Houston, the state of Texas, the southwest and the African Diaspora for current and future generations.

Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) is a nonprofit arts organization founded to advance education about the process, product and history of craft. HCCC’s major emphasis is on objects of art made primarily from craft materials: clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood or found/recycled materials.

The Houston Center for Photography is an organization dedicated to the art of photography. Starting in 1981 as a small visual artists' organization, HCP has grown to become an exemplary fine art organization.

The mission of the Jung Center is to support the development of greater self-awareness, creative expression, and psychological insight—individually, in relationships, and within the community. The Jung Center provides pathways to find a deeper meaning in everyday life.

Lawndale Art Center develops local contemporary artists and the audience for their art.

The Core Program awards residencies to exceptional, highly motivated visual artists and critical writers who have completed their undergraduate or graduate training and are working to develop a sustainable practice. Residents engage with a wide range of leading artists, critics, curators, and art historians who are invited to meet individually with the residents, lead seminars, and deliver public lectures.

The project reimagines traffic signal control cabinets (also referred to as electrical or utility boxes) as blank canvases brimming with creative opportunity, inviting artistic expression for all to enjoy. Once painted by local artists, the cabinets, which are located at every intersection with a traffic signal, are intended to help instill civic pride while beautifying neighborhoods and enhancing the urban landscape of Houston.

The mission of Project Row Houses is to be the catalyst for transforming community through the celebration of art and African-American history and culture.

The Washington Avenue Arts District curated an art exhibition transforming the honeycombed footprint of thirty-four renovated grain silos into site-specific contemporary installation. The goal of SITE is to create an environment which promotes experimentation and fosters excellence in creative thinking. The architecture of the silos has framed the creative process and forced each artist to think about their work in relation to a unique space, resulting in new and truly site-specific artistic outcomes.

Visual Arts Alliance (VAA) is an educational organization for serious practitioners of the visual arts and interested members of the general public. Founded in Houston, TX in 1981, VAA is an all volunteer-run, 501(c)3, non-profit organization.

The Glassell School of Art Studio School offers courses in art history and studio arts for adults, ages 18 and older. Studio courses and workshops are available in a variety of media, including painting, watercolor, printmaking, photography, ceramics, sculpture, and jewelry. Students at the Studio School of the Glassell School of Art are diverse in background and skill levels. Classes may be taken at the student’s leisure or as part of a more in-depth study through the Certificate of Achievement program.

TXRX is a non-profit Hackerspace in Houston, Texas offering classes, lab space, and our collective knowledge to help you launch your ideas and projects. We are a project based group of makers, inventors, tinkerers, artists, crafters, and coders. We are housed in a 30,000 square foot facility which includes a rapid fabrication lab, electronics lab, metal fabrication shop, wood workshop, machine shop, bike maintenance and repair shop, art lab, computer lab and coworking space.

Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts was formed in 1979 to meet the legal and accounting needs of artists and art nonprofit organizations across the State of Texas. TALA volunteers throughout Texas handle more than 250 matters per year. In 2016, TALA began serving inventors in the Patent Pro Bono Program.
