Q: Do EBSCO databases have a "references" section?

A: Yes, references sections are still available.

You can find an article's references in a variety of ways:

  • References are usually listed at the bottom of any article.
    • Within the EBSCO interface, you can use the Table of Contents button at the top right to quickly move to the References or Works Cited section.
  • The number of references in an article is commonly listed in the "Number of Citations in Source" section at the bottom of the article's description page within the EBSCO interface.
  • OneSearch often gives easy access to an article's references via the "Cited In this" listings at the bottom of the article's description page within OneSearch.
    • Using the hyperlinks takes you straight to any references you have access to through the library.

 

Q: Do EBSCO databases have a "cited by" section?

A: No, they do not currently list the "Cited By" listings; however, there are a few other options for obtaining this information.
  • OneSearch often gives easy access to an article's "Cited In this" and "Citing this" listings at the bottom of the article's description page.
    • Using the hyperlinks takes you straight to any references you have access to through the library.

 

    The Web of Science database can assist with tracking citations either by article or author(s) and is available via the Databases A-Z page.
  • Librarians can also help with locating these citations and references via chat, email, or phone "Ask a Librarian" services.
