In this edition we bring you some important updates as we near the beginning of the Spring semester. Library services will continue uninterrupted in the face of changing circumstances. Let's continue to work together in order to help our students improve their research skills.
The library will be hosting a series of four virtual Research Party Sessions on Jan. 26, Feb. 23, Mar. 30, and Apr. 27 from 11 AM to 1 PM. We are hoping to enlist your help to spread the word and promote this event with your students. The idea behind the Research Party is to provide students with an opportunity to get help from UHD librarians and writing tutors with any research projects they are currently working on. Students can access the virtual sessions by clicking here.
Meet our featured librarian: Jesús N. Serrato, Online Learning Librarian. He is the library's liaison to Ethnic Studies, Gender Studies, and Humanities. His favorite part of being a librarian is advocating for free and open information. During his free time, Jesús likes to ride his bike, practice his cooking, and learn about new cultures. He highly recommends the PBS series NOVA and checking out the data-driven journalism of FiveThirtyEight. Jesús' Collection Pick: Progress, A Reconstruction by Wagner

UHD is part of a group of Texas colleges and universities that have been in negotiations with the publisher Elsevier to secure better contract terms for each school. Since the coalition was unable to reach a deal with Elsevier before December 31, you might not have access to any of their content published after 2020.
