If these elements are available, include them in your citation:

  • Author
  • Title of source: book, article, poem, song, art object
  • Title of Container: book that is a collection, periodical (journal, magazine, newspaper), television series, website, database
  • Other Contributors: editors, illustrators, translators, directors, actors, etc.
  • Version: edition or version (e-book, Kindle ed.)
  • Number: volume in a multi-volume set, journal volume and issue numbers, TV series season and episode
  • Publisher: publishing house, TV or film production company, website, blog network.
  • Publication date
  • Location: page(s), URL, disc number in a DVD set

  • City of Publication for works published before 1900
  • Date of Access: recommended
  • URL: recommended
  • DOI: if available, use instead of a URL
