Finding Articles: Getting Started

Journals are the main source for original research and analysis in philosophy and many other subjects. If you have never used journals, these guides may help you learn how to get started.

    Library of Congress Call Numbers for Philosophy

    Books classified under the subject of Philosophy are found on the 5th floor of the W. I. Dykes Library.  General topics are organized as follows:

    • Subclass BD - Speculative Philosophy
    • Subclass BH - Aesthetics

    Use databases to identify research articles, book chapters, and the location of information materials on your research topic. A database most times represents the organized information about information materials; think of the database as a map to information locations.
